So we have all made it to the end of the semester. It seemed to fly by so quickly! I just wanted to say that I think we were a great class and I enjoyed working with everyone. I think that each one of us brought something different to the class and we were all able to learn different aspects of art due to our differences. I Have listened to almost everyone’s audios and I think that they are all great! I look foward to seeing y’all in future classes, Have a great summer!

project progress
Posted in Uncategorized on April 23, 2009 by johnnyhowlsSo far so good, Suzi, Julie, and I all decided to do all of our projects together so if a person listened to one of ours, they would have to listen to all 3 of ours! We recorded our audio today and we were really pleased with the second take we had. We went to upload it to the computer and we found out that when we put the camera back in the bag, it hit the record button and taped over all of our audio!!!!. so then we had to go back and record all of the audio again. so we had 1 hold up but we hope to have it finished soon!

This is what my script looks like, except mine is not upside down. It keeps inserting it upside down but i’m sure you get the gist of it…
Three little books, sat by my doorstep…
Posted in Uncategorized on April 20, 2009 by johnnyhowls

these are all of the book arts from my selection of books! I wish i could have shown them in class but we kept forgeting with it being the end of the semester and all. my three books were Art, Crime, And Madness; Medievil Metaphysics; and Psychology in Utopia.
My favorite piece is the “God” and Art piece. I cut out the leters to make them look more like propaganda or a ransom note. The drawing of the girl is a drawing i had previously done, but i photoshopped the knife in her back instead of altering the original. the Utopia one is being compared to fruitopia, and has a deep meaning I feel. and the metaphysics one has a early scientist/astrologer looking straight at the sun to draw it. I believe that is why they believed the things they did…. This was a very fun project and i hope people find these bits of art in the future still hidden in the books.
Lean, Mean, Green Bean!
Posted in Uncategorized on April 20, 2009 by johnnyhowlsI thought it was funny, you write about stuff for someone to look at, they read it, do what it says and then realize they are looking at their uncle! No lie! One of the people in my paper was related to one of our own classmates and he didnt even know he was in there! so all in all i had a good time doing this project. I even arrived early to try and get a little more info about our main project. On the downside though, the hot choco tatsed a little like coffee
downtown all around
Posted in Uncategorized on April 1, 2009 by johnnyhowlsI enjoyed the trip downtown for class. it was nice to get out of the building even though the wind was freakin’ cold as could be. I had a great time with the chalk and I personally liked the two windows me and Suzi put on “Just Be” the most out of our drawings we did (the body line was a close second). I hope we get to do more stuff like this as the weather improves. I also enjoyed transforming the doorstops! I just wish most of them hadn’t dissapeared. They are probably in the facualties offices on display!
